Divine Services in Mufulira and Ndola

By Nimon Muleya

District Apostle Kububa Soko visited the mining town of Mufulira, which is also a border town with Congo DR for the first time as District Apostle on 21st February 2020. On this programme, the District Apostle travelled with retired District Apostles, Duncan Mfune and Charles Ndandula, Apostles Stephen Lindunda of Kitwe, Richard Kasoma of Kabompo and Jacob Mwansa (the host).

Around 1,260 New Apostolic Church members had fellowship with the District Apostle in a divine service held at Mufulira’s Pamodzi congregation.

Exodus 14: 14 was used as text word:

“The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace”

The Lord will fight for you.

In his sermon, District Apostle Soko, comforted the members, by assuring them that God knows the difficulties that they could be undergoing and that God will fight for them.

“My dear brothers and sisters, the text word I have read to you gives an account of what Moses and the Israelites experienced during their pilgrim to their promised land, Canaan. I believe we all know what they went through; they were kept hostage as slaves in Egypt, and on their way to Canaan, they experienced a lot of challenging moments,” he said.

The District Apostle also made reference to Exodus 6:7-8.

He reassured the members that despite the challenges of life they may be experiencing, God will fight for them and He will deliver them.

“My dear brothers and sisters, in every difficult moment of our lives, let us trust God! Because He will not abandon us. He will fight for us.

“1 Kings chapter 18 tells us about what happened at mount Carmel between Elijah and the prophets of Baal. Because Elijah trusted in the true God, God did not abandon Elijah. Let us remain obedient to God, let us trust Him, He will fight for us and provide for us” he said.

The District Apostle also urged the members to be prayerful.

“Dear brothers and sisters, as we face trials of this world, let us be prayerful that God should sustain us; when we pray to God, let us not use vain repetitions because God knows what we need even before we ask, ref: Mathews 6:7-8.

“As witnesses of Jesus, let us be truthful to the teaching of Jesus, we must aspire to live in accordance with the gospel of Jesus. Let us not judge and condemn our neighbours because God is also fighting for them, but let us always wish them good, help them and pray for them and with them.” He said.

Referring to Mathew 20:9, District Apostle Soko urged the members to love and respect their God by accepting His will.

“Let us always have the desire for the grace of God and accept what the Lord has done for us; remain faithful and prepare for the eminent return of Jesus.” he said.

Preparation for the divine service for departed.

On Sunday, February 23, 2020, District Apostle Soko conducted a preparation for the divine service for the departed at Ndola Central congregation. 5,063 members attended this divine service.

Mathews 5:44 – 45 was used as text word.

“But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and the unjust.”

During this service, in line with the new Concept of Ministry, District Apostle Soko appointed 27 District Elders as District Rectors and urged them to serve God with fear, truth, loyalty, dignity and humbleness.
